EO Green and Blackstock Theatre · A note from a parent

Let's give them a full house

An offer to help grow the program, for the people who already make it shine.

Looking ahead to the 2026 to 2027 season

The program begins
Before the curtain

My daughter just finished her first year in your program, and she loved every minute of it. Volunteering this year, I saw how much the two of you pour into these kids. I would love to help carry some of that load next year, so your focus can stay where it belongs. Nothing here is decided. It is a starting point, and all of it is yours to shape, keep, or set aside.

Act One

What I kept thinking about

You guys rehearsed almost every day for nine months. When the lights came up, the room wasn't as full as expected. You guys earned a bigger crowd than that.

The good news is that this is a fixable problem, and almost all of the fixing happens off the stage. It is outreach, invitations, and word of mouth. That is exactly the kind of work a team of parents can quietly own, so it never lands on the two of you.

Act Two

What I would love to take off your plate

With a few other committed parents, here is the work we would gladly handle. You stay in charge of the show. We handle the noise around it.

i

Audience and outreach

Inviting other schools, families, and the community early, so the room is full by opening night.

ii

Sponsorship and donations

Reaching out to local businesses and beyond for support, so the program has what it needs to shine.

iii

Social media and content

A year of behind the scenes posts that build a real following long before opening night.

iv

A program website

A proper home for the show, the cast, and our sponsors. Built and maintained at no cost.

v

Props and costumes

Starting the builds over the summer, so nothing has to wait until the last minute.

vi

Parent communication

One simple, central way for parents and the two of you to stay in sync all year.

Act Three

An idea worth leaning into

You already direct both schools, with the shows about two weeks apart. There may be a way to make that work even harder for both casts.

The cast at
Blackstock

Each school's families are exactly the audience the other show needs. With a little coordination, the two casts can help fill each other's rooms.

Act Four

A few things we are excited about

These are wishes, not decisions. Some may fit, some may not, and that part is entirely up to you.

The ask

What I am really asking for

The two of you stay fully in charge of the program and the show. I would simply love the chance to walk you through these ideas, hear what would actually help, learn what is and is not possible within the school, and start early enough this summer to do it right.

Anything involving the students, their photos, or their stories happens only with the permissions you and the families are glad to give, and any money raised would run through whatever official channel the school uses. The kids always come first.

Admit 1 This summer

You guys all gave nine months this school year. Let's make sure the whole community shows up for them.
